Design: Giving Back

I was wanting to write a post about this at some point, and I figured now was a great time. I was surfing the internet tonight, and came across a post on Reddit.com about a guy that had a photo of his dad right before he passed away.

Now, it might not seem like much, and it’s not, but I spent about an hour or so messing around in photoshop and created a couple of images. I sent them over to him, and it may or may not make his day. But the important thing is that I did it.

What doing this does is a couple of things. If I’m trying to drum up business, it might help with that. Perhaps someone could see my work, I’m sharpening my skills, and I’m just enjoying what I do, no client remarks, edits or changes….just enjoying design.

It’s also the “Robin Hood” idea. So go out there, and do stuff for good people who will appreciate your work.
